This year, Debrecen once again hosted the global waste collection event, World Cleanup Day. Representatives from 14 local companies, along with over 150 employees, joined forces to clean up the Erdőspuszták area.

World Cleanup Day is an international cleanup initiative that nearly 200 countries around the world have already joined. It is one of the largest annual environmental actions globally, mobilizing 198 countries and approximately 19 million volunteers in 2023 to fight for a cleaner environment. The movement aims to reduce the amount of waste, and last year alone, nearly 220 tons of waste were collected.

This year’s event took place on September 20, and once again, our team enthusiastically took part. The local initiative titled “Debrecenben kéne szedni…” (“We Should Clean Up in Debrecen…”) aims to promote environmental responsibility among companies and raise awareness of the issue of illegal waste dumping. Together with 14 other companies, more than 150 employees helped collect abandoned and illegally dumped waste across nearly 60 square kilometers in the Erdőspuszták area. During the action, we gathered 100 cubic meters of waste.
